Jerusalem is about building a better world. Vivien Rickman convenes a volunteer group of prison visitors. Cameron Rickman is a member of the parliamentary Labour Party. Each strives to create a new and better society. Oliver Rickman is their son. He travels. They each begin to question their ideals and by looking inwardly to discover that perhaps the new world needs to be created from within the self.
A searching play, by one of our more forward thinking and socially astute playwrights, Jerusalem generates a deep sense of questioning about the world in which we find ourselves and the power within each of us to change it.
This production subsequently toured to the Wharf as part of Sydney Theatre Company's 1997 season.
