The Marriage of Bette and Boo

By Christopher Durang

Theatre International Play

Slippery satire of marriage, family and society at large. Rituals of celebration become battles, love sours to hate, hate ripens into love, tragedy ends in farce. The husband is an alcoholic, the wife goes on having one stillborn child after another, the priest who marries and counsels them is a human casualty too. But somehow it all adds up to an evening of lighthearted comedy.
