Trans Theatre Festival

The Inaugural Program 2026

The Trans Theatre Festival, co-presented by Green Door Theatre Company, Carriageworks and Malthouse Theatre, under the direction of Dino Dimitriadis, is the first national theatre festival dedicated entirely to the voices and visions of trans and gender diverse artists.

This inaugural program brings together trailblazing work from across Australia and beyond.

The program expands with masterclasses, new play developments, and panels, creating space for dialogue and support for the next wave of trans stories.

Urgent, ambitious, and unapologetically trans, this is a space where artists and audiences can meet to imagine new futures.

Main Program

In addition to the main program, the festival included various symposiums, panels and masterclasses, as well as networking events and new work developments.
