Susie Dee (she/her) has worked extensively in theatre as a performer, devisor and director both in Australia and overseas for the past forty years.
Malthouse Theatre credits include Fuck Christmas as co-creator and director, normal.suburban.planetary.meltdown. as director and Caravan (with Melbourne Festival) as co-director and performer. Most recently Susie directed My Sister Jill (Melbourne Theatre Company) which won the Green Room Awards for Outstanding Production and Directing. She has a long history of directing plays by Patricia Cornelius, including Bad Boy, SHIT and Love, which toured to the Venice Biennale Theatre Festival. Other directing highlights include Animal (Theatreworks & Dark Mofo); Anthem (Performing Lines/Melbourne, Sydney & Perth Festivals); RUNT (fortyfivedownstairs, La Boite Theatre and Sydney Opera House); The Amateurs and Witttenoom (Red Stitch Actors Theatre); Fuck Fabulous, Fart Fabulous, Queen Kong and the Homosapiens and The Rainbow Tree (Fat Fruit).
Susie has won numerous Green Room Awards for directing, was a recipient of the Ewa Czajor Memorial Award for female directors and in 2022, she received the prestigious Australia Council Award for Theatre.
