The Riders is an Australian opera based on Tim Winton’s Booker-nominated classic. The work is about the panic and terror of someone suddenly bereft of love. When the unthinkable happens, Scully, a decent hearted Australian embarks on a race across Europe desperately trying to locate his missing wife, with his young daughter Billie in tow.
"HERE IS ONE OF AUSTRALIA'S BEST WRITERS, ONE ADMIRED FOR HIS DEEP EMOTIONAL INSIGHTS AND HIS SPIRITUAL EVOCATION OF PLACE. THROUGH HIS WRITING HE HAS HELPED A GENERATION DEFINE THEMSELVES AS MODERN AUSTRALIANS AND REMINDED OLDER GENERATIONS OF LOST IDEALS AND OF VALUES WORTH CHERISHING AND PASSING ON."
