Hugo Poulet

Hugo Poulet is a multidisciplinary, independent artist based in Australia. A versatile and distinctive mover, he draws on a wide range of movement practices to expand the language of contemporary dance.

Other Dance: CODE OF CONDUCT (Australasian Dance Collective); DECADANCE (Sydney Dance Company); DRENCHED (Caetlyn Watson); THE RING CYCLE (Opera Australia) and AUTO CANNIBAL (Stephanie Lake Company). He has also collaborated with leading choreographers including Rafael Bonachela, James Vu Anh Pham, Larissa McGowan, Omer Backley-Astrachan and Gabrielle Nankivell, among others. As Choreographer: ORBITAL (PACT Centre for Emerging Artists).
Awards: 2025 DUTI’s Profound Choreographic Competition winner; 2022 Best Duet Choreography winner at FORMS’ Sharp Short Dance Awards.

Hugo is currently developing SIGIL, a solo work exploring the intersection of dance and his music practice.
