A special Playbox double bill - with the Bicentennial year clearly in mind - of two very different monodramas, both staged on the same ingenious Trina Parker set.
Steal Away Home by Phil Motherwell is about a petty thief whose world is thrown into confusion when a chance encounter leads him to question his parentage, and uncover his hidden Aboriginal ancestry. The play is based on the life of Motherwell's friend Uncle Jack Charles.
The Serpent's Fall by Sarah Cathcart and Andrea Lemon weaves the image of the snake, once the emblem of feminine power, through the lives and mythologies of four contemporary Australian women.
