Gentlemen Only

Set in an exclusive New York men's club in 1903. The club members rehearse a music hall variety show. All the songs and jokes are about women. All the men on stage are played by women. Writer Eve Merriam explained:

"All the joking and the songs are related to male stereotyping of women. If some of these old wheezes [routines] are still in existence on television and nightclubs and in personal relationships, well the point is made without hitting the audience over the head."
