John Collopy

John Collopy (he/him) is an award-winning lighting designer who works across theatre, circus and dance.

For Malthouse Theatre, John was lighting designer for PRIDE & PREJUDICE. Other theatre credits include JUST A BOY, STANDING IN FRONT OF A GIRL (15 Minutes from Anywhere); THE BLOK! (A Daylight Connection); THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, A DODGEBALL NAMED DESIRE, ANIMAL FARM AND PARADISE LOST (Bloomshed); BALLKIDS (OR, SCENES FROM A FRIENDSHIP) and THE GRIEF TRILOGY (VIMH: the voice in my hands); House Arrest (YIRRAMBOI); OBJECT-SHUN/SERMON and BODYLEX (Dancehouse) and IN COMMON, SENSORY DECADENCE and KILLER (One Fell Swoop Circus).  

John has won the Green Room Award for Outstanding Lighting Design in Independent Theatre (Paradise Lost).
