Samantha Hastings

Samantha Hastings (she/her) is a freelance designer and maker working in theatre, film and television, currently based in Naarm. She has been collaborating with popular Melbourne theatre ensemble, Bloomshed since 2021.

For Malthouse Theatre, Samantha was costume designer for PRIDE & PREJUDICE. Other theatre credits include set & costume designer for THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, NOT NATURAL, ANIMAL FARM, A DODGEBALL NAMED DESIRE and PARADISE LOST (Bloomshed), NIUSUA (La Mama/Melbourne Fringe) and costume designer for ALISON GOES TO ALDI FOR HER AUNT (Melbourne Fringe) and OTHELLO (Melbourne Shakespeare Company).

She also works as a stylist and assistant on screen productions, most recently on NEIGHBOURS.

Samantha has been nominated for two Green Room Awards including Outstanding Costume Design in Independent Theatre (Pride & Prejudice) and Outstanding Set & Costume Design in Independent Theatre (Animal Farm).

Samantha is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (Costume Design/Construction).
