Rhys Velasquez

Rhys Velasquez (they/she) is a casting director and consultant, having started in the industry as a performer and choreographer after graduating from the Arts Academy, Ballarat in 2013. 

Malthouse Theatre: Casting Director (2025 - Current); Casting Manager (2024 - 2025). Other Theatre: Casting Director highlights include In the Heights, Little Women, City of Angels and Bonnie & Clyde (Joshua Robson Productions); Flat Earthers: The Musical (Griffin Theatre Company/Hayes Theatre Co.); Choir Boy (NTofP) and Casting Associate for Melbourne Theatre Company (2022 - 2024). Film: Casting Director for Black Trans Miracle and Coming & Going. 

Rhys is a two-time Casting Guild of Australia Award Winner.
